Any fast dayPrep 10 minCook 5 minServes 2
When to eat it. No oil, wine or fish, so it fits even the strict weekdays of Lent.
Ingredients
Method
- Drop the shrimp into simmering salted water with the bay leaf for 2 to 3 minutes until pink. Drain and cool.
- Whisk the lemon, mustard, salt and pepper.
- Toss the shrimp and vegetables with the dressing.
- Scatter dill on top.
Tip. Shellfish isn’t counted as fish, so with no oil this works on strict days. Follow your parish’s practice.
Fasting customs differ between churches and parishes. When in doubt, follow what your priest gives you. Not sure what today allows? Check the Orthodox calendar.
